Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 12, 2026

This policy explains what personal data Coastline Tape Co. collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It covers customers and visitors in the UK, EU/EEA, the United States and elsewhere.

1. Who is responsible for your data

COASTLINE ADHESIVE TAPES LIMITED (trading as Coastline Tape Co., “we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal data collected through coaadhtap.shop. You can reach us at 8 Skye Road, Shaw Farm Industrial Estate, KA9 2TA, United Kingdom, by email at support@coaadhtap.shop, or by phone at +44 7201849809.

For UK and EU/EEA data protection matters, contact us using the details above and mark your message “Data protection”. We handle such requests as our privacy point of contact.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the store and fulfil your orders:

  • Contact & delivery data: name, email, phone (optional), delivery address, city, postal code and country.
  • Order data: the kits or membership you buy, order totals in USD, order status and correspondence.
  • Account & membership data: if you subscribe, your membership tier and billing status (managed through Stripe).
  • Support & enquiry data: messages you send through our contact or wholesale forms.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and essential cookies needed to operate the site.
  • Tape Finder inputs: the surface, task and environment you select to receive a recommendation.

We do not collect government ID numbers, and we never store full payment card numbers (see section 5).

3. Where the data comes from

Most data comes directly from you when you place an order, create a membership, use the Tape Finder, or contact us. Technical data is collected automatically by our hosting and analytics infrastructure. Payment confirmation data comes from our payment processor, Stripe.

4. Why we use it and our legal bases

  • To fulfil your order and membership — legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • To provide support and respond to enquiries — legal basis: legitimate interests and/or contract.
  • To process payments and prevent fraud — legal basis: contract and legitimate interests.
  • To retain checkout details you submit (including where payment is not completed) for order recovery and follow-up — legal basis: legitimate interests; you may object at any time.
  • To meet tax, accounting and legal obligations — legal basis: legal obligation.
  • To send marketing only where you have opted in — legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

5. Payments — the card data boundary

Card payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. and its group companies. When you pay, you enter your card details on Stripe’s secure checkout, not on our servers. Coastline Tape Co. does not receive, process or store your full card number, CVC or full card expiry. We receive only confirmation of payment, the last few digits and card brand where provided, and the billing/shipping details needed to deliver your order.

6. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with processors that help us run the store, under contract and only as needed:

  • Payments: Stripe (card processing, subscriptions, fraud prevention).
  • Hosting & delivery of the site: Vercel (application hosting and content delivery).
  • Database & lead storage: Supabase (order, account and enquiry records).
  • Email & communications: our transactional email provider for order and support messages.
  • Shipping & delivery carriers: to deliver your physical kits.

We may also disclose data where required by law, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell your personal data.

7. International transfers

Some of our processors (for example Stripe and Vercel) operate in the United States and other countries. Where personal data leaves the UK or EU/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with the providers’ own certifications, to protect your data.

8. How long we keep it

We keep order and transaction records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Enquiry and checkout lead data is retained for no longer than 24 months unless you become a customer or ask us to erase it sooner. Marketing consent records are kept until you unsubscribe.

9. Your rights (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)

Subject to conditions, you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict or object to processing, including direct marketing.
  • Data portability.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it.

To exercise any right, email support@coaadhtap.shop. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or to your local EU/EEA supervisory authority.

10. California rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access and deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. To make a request, email support@coaadhtap.shop.

11. Do Not Sell or Share

Coastline Tape Co. does not sell your personal data and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is nothing to opt out of on this front; if this ever changes, we will update this policy and provide a clear opt-out.

12. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to run the store (for example your cart and admin session) and limited analytics to understand site performance. See our Cookie Policy for details and choices.

13. Automated decisions and children

The Tape Finder gives product suggestions based on your inputs; it does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, and no purchase is made automatically. Our store is intended for adults. Accounts are not available to children under 13, and 13–17 year-olds must have a parent or guardian’s consent to order. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; contact us to remove any such data.

14. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable processors to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect personal data and to notify you and the relevant authority of a qualifying breach where required.

15. Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above shows the latest version. For any privacy question or request, contact COASTLINE ADHESIVE TAPES LIMITED at support@coaadhtap.shop.
